These terms govern your use of the Rydars app and website. By creating an account you accept them. If you do not accept them, do not use Rydars.
We ask drivers to submit identity and vehicle documents, which our staff review. Verification is a check of the documents provided — it is not a guarantee about any person, vehicle or journey. We may refuse, revoke or re-request verification at any time. Some features are unavailable until verification is complete.
Rydars is intended for sharing the cost of a journey the driver was making anyway. Any amount shown for a trip is a contribution towards costs agreed between users. Rydars is not a taxi or private-hire service, does not set fares, and takes no part in payments between users. You are responsible for ensuring your use of Rydars complies with the law where you are, including any licensing rules for carrying passengers.
You decide who you travel with. We are not able to vet users beyond the document checks described above, and we do not supervise journeys. Use your judgement, and tell someone where you are going.
You keep ownership of what you upload. You give us permission to store and display it as needed to run the service — for example, showing your approved profile photo and vehicle details to other users. You confirm you have the right to upload what you upload.
We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, that we reasonably believe is fraudulent or unsafe, or where required by law. You may close your account at any time — see section 9.
You can delete your account in the app under Settings → Delete my account, or at rydars.com/delete-account. Deletion is immediate and permanent. Your profile, documents, vehicles and trips are erased, and any unused tokens are lost and not refundable. What is retained afterwards is described in the Privacy Policy.
We aim to keep Rydars running but do not promise uninterrupted or error-free service. We may change, suspend or withdraw features, and may update the app. Some features depend on third parties (maps, notifications, app stores) that we do not control.
Rydars is provided "as is". To the fullest extent the law allows, we exclude implied warranties. We are not responsible for the conduct of any user, for the condition or legality of any vehicle, for whether a journey happens, or for anything agreed directly between users.
To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of profit, data or opportunity. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited — including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.
These terms, and any dispute arising out of them or out of your use of Rydars, are governed by the laws of the Emirate of Dubai and the federal laws of the United Arab Emirates that apply in it. The courts of Dubai have jurisdiction.
If you use Rydars from another country, nothing in this section takes away any protection you have under the mandatory consumer-protection laws of the country where you live, or any right you have under those laws to bring proceedings in your local courts.
Before starting any proceedings, please contact us at admin@rydars.com — most problems are far quicker to resolve directly.
If we change these terms we will publish the new version here with a new version date, and where the change is significant we will ask you to accept it again in the app. We keep a record of which version you accepted and when.
